The Domestic Job Search Ministry meets each Monday from 10:00 - 11:30 AM at St. Cyril of Alexandria Catholic Church, second floor. The focus of the ministry is on domestic jobs, such as in-home child care, elder care and housekeeping. The potential employers are normally individual persons or families needing "at home" services. Employers can come to personally interview job seekers. Job leads are filed by language preference of the potential employer and job seekers are separated into English and Spanish speaking groups. The jobs that are available are read to each group. Each job opportunity read includes a job description, pay rate and other needs of the potential employer.
The number of job seekers always outnumbers the number of jobs available. Potential employers are encouraged to call 713-266-1366 and have their needs listed.
Volunteers go over posted jobs in he Spanish speaking session.
As always, at the heart of every successful operation such as this one, is a dedicated group of volunteers who make it all happen. They know they have the power to make a difference ... and they do.
