Determining Client Needs

WHAM takes the time to ensure that the needs of clients are met with the context of the urgency of the client's situation and the funds available.  The following process ensures funds, food and services are provided.

  • Clients are requested sign up for appointments in advance.
  • When the client appears, he/she must present documentation substantiating identity.
  • Clients are requested to bring reasonable proof substantiating need.
  • Client meets with staff interviewer to discuss needs and determine strategy and timetable for solution and recovery.
  • Interviewers and staff consult to bring forth best ideas.  Some of the best ideas come from collective minds.
  • Resources immediately available (such as food from the Pantry) are allotted at the interview.
  • Other resources, such as rent payments and/or utilities, require contact with the payee before any payments are made.
  • All services, food and money allotted are electronically stored and accumulated for future reference. 
  • Interviewers notes are compiled in physical files by client name.
